Abstract
AbstractPurpose: The purpose of the work is to study the impact of anti-Russian sanctions on the Russian economy from the point of view of a diverse comprehensive influence on the economic situation in general and on the field of education and science in the Russian Federation in particular.Design/Methodology/Approach: The authors conducted a comprehensive multi-method research and presented an analysis of possible areas of indirect influence of sanctions measures due to the practically absent direct sanctions restrictions.Findings: The work presents examples of the significant positive impact of sanctions on the country’s economy, as well as facts confirming the possibility of compensation for sanctions influence. From the point of view of the field of vocational education and science, the direct impact of sanctions on this field has not been revealed. It is important to take into account the possible negative impact on educational and scientific organizations whose subject matter is high technology. Over time, such consequences will manifest themselves in the organization of academic mobility and the development of the activities of foreign foundations in the educational system of Russia.Originality/Value: The presented analysis made it possible to argue the positive potential for the development of relations between Russia and the countries of the Asian region in the context of Western economic and political aggression: the strengthening of the eastern direction in the development of interstate relations has been taking place in recent decades. It was determined that the sanctions measures of the West 2014–2018. In relation to Russia allowed to intensify the internal resources of the economy in general and the field of education in particular. In this regard, it was established that in the scientific and educational sphere it will be necessary to revise the sources of financing due to the restriction of the functioning of individual foreign funds, the activation of Russian industry is important as a basis for the research activities of scientific and educational organizations, especially in the field of high technology.KeywordsScienceEducationSanctions measuresSocio-economic processesEconomicsJEL CodeF5I25
