Abstract

Through this article we want to draw the attention of the broad pedagogical community to an important problem—mathematics preparation in the technicum. It is impossible to imagine specialized training of future metallurgists, power engineers, chemists, radio technicians, and many other middle-level specialists without extensive use of a mathematical apparatus that is superior to the general education level. This is true to an even greater extent for new specialities such as robotics, flexible automated lines, and so on. An analysis of tendencies in the development of modern equipment and future technologies, and the organization of the management of production, shows convincingly the importance of mathematics preparation.
