Abstract

CTR: You were one of the founding directors of the Manitoba Theatre Centre. What was the theatre in this country like at that time? HIRSCH: At that time all the people who were involved were really true pioneers. That is, I can think of very few people in Canadian theatre at that time who were pursuing that course because they wanted to build themselves a career. They were really solely interested in creating a theatrical network in this country.
