Abstract

In this paper the results of research on wheat and soybean straw calorific value are presented. Research was conducted at the laboratory of Thermal heating plant in Novi Sad. Upper calorific value was measured with caloric bomb method on adiabatic calorimeter ('bomb') - product of IKA company, type C400. Lower calorific value of dry fuel mass and lower calorific value of working fuel were determined analytically. Also presented are methodology for defining biofuel humidity and quantity of ashes after combustion of wheat and soybean. Quantity of ashes after combustion was defined at the laboratory of Thermal heating plant in Novi Sad, under real conditions, using hot water boiler. Conclusion is presented based on the obtained results and in comparison with other related research.
