Abstract

Odette de Barros Mott (1913-1998), writer of children and youth literature for half a century of her life, produced until the end of her career, eighty titles and after three decades of work, already had more than a million works circulating on the market. This article presents information about the literary career of the author, trying to verify her position in the Brazilian literary field. Therefore, weresearched information about the history of children and youth literature in Brazil, supported by the work of researchers who have studied this subject.
