Abstract
Objective To observe and analyze the curative efficacy of Yiqi Yangyin formula in combination with omeprazole in the treatment of patients with chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), and its effects on serum epidermal growth factor (EGF). Methods 104 patients with CAG were collected as research subjects. And they were randomly divided into two groups equally. All patients were given conventional treatment for 6 months.Besides that, the control group was treated with omeprazole, and the observation group was treated with Yiqi Yangyin formula in combination with omeprazole for 6 months. After treatment, the curative efficacy of CAG, rate of pain, belching, acid reflux, nausea and levels of serum EGF were compared between the two groups. Results The effective rate of the observation group was higher than that in the control group (94.2% vs 80.8%, χ2=4.308, P<0.05). In comparison with the control group after treatment, the observation group had lower incidence of upper abdominal distention and pain, eructation, acid regurgitation, nausea (57.7% vs 76.9%, 53.8% vs 75.0%, 50.0% vs 73.1%, 46.2% vs 71.2%, χ2=4.370, 5.076, 5.850, 6.701, all P<0.05), and lower level of serum EGF[(1.47±0.30)μg/L vs (2.01±0.35)μg/L), t=8.45, P<0.05]. Conclusion Yiqi Yangyin formula in combination with omeprazole is effective for CAG with a high effective rate. And it can significantly improve clinical symptoms and reduce level of serum EGF. Key words: Gastritis, atrophic; Yiqi yangyin formula; Omeprazole; Epidermal growth factor
