Abstract
Isotropic magnetic contribution to the refractive index of cubic crystals was observed by studying temperature dependences of the index in perovskite-type crystals KMnF 3, KCoF 3, KNiF 3 and KMgF 3. At low temperature magnetic contribution in KNiF 3 is δn m ⋍ 3.3 × 10 −3 . Magnetic contribution was found to exist well above the temperature of magnetic ordering due to short-range ordering effects.
