Abstract

Obliterative inflammation of the joint capsule is a disorder consisting of progressive loss of active and passive mobility in the brachial-scapula joint, accompanied by strong pain sensations which worsen at night. The primary type of the disease is idiopathic, the secondary type is associated with comorbid diseases. The condition of an effective rehabilitation is to make an accurate diagnosis, and the therapy program depends on the type of the disease and the period of the disease. Surgical methods, such as arthroscopic capsuloligamentatomy, manipulation under anaesthesia, pharmacological and conservative treatments, are used in the treatment. The main goals of treatment are: eradication or reduction of pain, improvement of the mobility of the shoulder joint, improvement of the strength of the muscle acting on the joint. The methodology of the study is based on a review of the current Polish and English language literature, available in scientific databases, such as: PubMed, Google Scholar, ResearchGate and Cochrane. The works published in the period 2010-2018 were analyzed. There were found 50 items on the topic, of which 30 were used for the final analysis, the remaining 20 items were rejected due to the publication date earlier than 2010.
