Abstract
This work intends to discuss the place of contemporary Brazilian literature within Institutions of Higher Education (IHE). From the analysis of some curricula of the Literature courses, more specifically, the subjects' papers, from private and public institutions of Rio Grande do Sul, we try to see in which of them is inserted the discipline of "Contemporary Brazilian Literature" or some of that make references to the current Brazilian literature. For this, we try to discuss the idea of education as a way of appropriating or not of speeches, according to Foucault, and also to conceptualize "contemporary", according to Agamben and Barberena, to analyze the application of this concept in the subjects. More than giving answers, this work wants to raise questions about the place given to contemporary Brazilian literature in the literature courses.
