Abstract
COMO geógrafo, o autor propõe-se a focalizar na obra prima Grande sertão: veredas de João Guimarães Rosa, sondando a veracidade espacial (geográfica) na descrição das paisagens e no uso da toponímia, constatando a excelência na primeira, enquanto, na segunda, algumas vezes ela é iluminada por uma simbologia metafísica. Além disso, a veracidade temporal (histórica) na narrativa da personagem central - Riobaldo -, em vez de obedecer a uma seqüência cronológica linear, ela volteia segundo o fluxo da memória do narrador.
