Abstract

The work reflects on the Guyanese Shield as a natural heritage to be preserved in a process guided by international cooperation between Brazil, Colombia, French Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela in the protection of a cross-border asset. Among other possibilities, it points to the creation of Conservation Units (UCs) in this South American relief for inclusion on the World Heritage List of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
