Abstract

Objective To explore the nursing intervention process of decreasing the incidence of phlebitis during chemotherapy applying PICC. Methods Formulate and enforce nursing intervention process in patients who were insertted PICC during chemotherapy. Compare the incidence of phlebitis before and after intervention. Analyze the reason of phlebitis resulting from the PICC application. Results After intervention, the total incidence of phlebitis and Ⅱ grade phlebitis were reduced significantly (P 0.05) . Conclusions The occurrence of phlebitis after PICC is multifactoriaL The measurements of improving technology of puncture and setting the tube, selecting suitable vessel, finding and treating the phlebitis in time can guarantee successful setting the tube, prolong the tube service life and prevent or decrease the incidence of phlebitis.
