Abstract

A retrospective analysis was done of a nurse practitioner (NP)-led low-calorie ketogenic diet for adults with overweight and obesity study to determine whether results were comparable to physician-led low-calorie ketogenic diet programs. A statistically significant (P < .05) reduction was noted. NP results were compared with physician-led studies. The first study showed more weight loss in the physician group, whereas the NP had better outcomes compared with the second physician study. Results were statistically significant. The study concluded that a NP-led low-calorie ketogenic diet program is effective in primary care.
