Abstract

The present state and future plan for the updated table of nuclear magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments is outlined. Topics briefly reviewed concerning developments in the field of nuclear moment studies in the nineties include extension of experimental support for the theoretical treatment of exchange current effects in nuclear magnetic moments, improvements in measurements on short-lived excited states by the transient field method, and a caution regarding the need for good hyperfine anomaly [Bohr-Weisskopf effect] studies. New methods for quadrupole moment measurement and theoretical limitations on electric quadrupole moments based on the best μ-mesic atom and atomic HFS studies are described.
