Abstract

Static nuclear magnetic dipole and electric quadrupole moments provide valuable information about nuclear structure. In this paper the determination of such moments with the aid of low-temperature nuclear orientation (LTNO) techniques will be reviewed. With the development of these techniques the number of isotopes, which can be studied, has been increased very substantially; the shortest half lives used in LTNO are of the order of a few seconds.
