Abstract
We have investigated novel single gap transflective fringe-field switching (FFS) mode using different shape of common electrode in transmissive and reflective part. The common electrode of transmissive part is box type like conventional FFS mode. In reflective part, using slit type of common electrode, operating voltage matches with that of transmissive part without the loss of liquid crystal efficiency resulting from decrease of rubbing angle.
