Abstract

Australia and New Zealand share a joint food standard setting system, with standards being developed by Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ), a statutory authority established under the Australian Commonwealth and responsible for the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (The Code). Implementation and responsibility for enforcement of food standards remains with the individual Australian State & Territory government and New Zealand, under their own laws.
