Abstract
Low cost miniaturized efficient ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna dedicated to a non-invasive technique for early breast cancer detection is studied mathematically, designed, simulated, fabricated and tested. The new design is composed of a small sized square patch (26mm x 20mm), with three rectangular slots and a reduced ground-plane which has a T-shaped slot, fed by a 50Ω microstrip transmission line. Also, a comparative study has been made with some recent works to prove the potential of this structure. The frequency bandwidth of this antenna is 13.27GHz. In this range of operation, such a device is suited for various Ultra wideband applications.
