Abstract
ABSTRACT This article examines how nostalgia for the late twentieth century has marked Greece since the 2010s. The analysis merges invisible observation and semiotic analysis to scrutinize nostalgic social groups on Facebook and brings the findings into dialog with interviews with creators of nostalgic places. Nostalgia is approached as an emotion that revolves around idealized utopias founded upon simplicity and togetherness in Greek society. Finally, the article argues that nostalgia represents a multi-sensory experience able to connect digital environments with ‘real-life’ experiences linking heterogeneous audiences.
