Abstract

AbstractIn this paper, the nonoverlapping domain decomposition methd (NDDM) is used to compute the capacitance matrix of multiconductor transmission lines in multilayer dielectric media. The subdomains with pure dielectric layers are analyzed using the method of lines (MoL), and fast Fourier transform (FFT) is introduced to reduce the computing time, while the subdomains with conductors are analyzed using the finite‐difference method. The numerical results show that the algorithm is efficient, and the computing time and memory needs are unrelated to the thickness of the pure dielectric layers. In addition, the effect of the uneven dielectric division on the electromagnetic parameter is also investigated. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
