Abstract
The work presented here addresses the design and analysis of a noncoherent five-correlator code tracking scheme, which is considered minimal in BOC (binary offset carrier) signal tracking. The design flexibilities associated with a general noncoherent tracking loop including correlator spacing and weighting coefficients are identified and determined through an optimization process to meet design requirements including ambiguity-free, multipath mitigation, and tracking error minimization. The discriminator design is assessed through design examples.
