Abstract

Objectives: To describe occupational stress and its related factors among nurses. Subjects and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 319 non-frontline nurses during the COVID-19 pandemic at the Vinmec Healthcare System across Vietnam from December 2021 to August 2022 by the use of the Expanded Nursing Scale. Nurses had low stress levels at all subscales following the ENSS (the mean scores ranged from 1.52 to 1.73). The highest score was “death and dying” (1,73 ± 0,49). There was a significant association between gender and the level of stress, p<0.05. In terms of stress levels regarding patients and families, pediatric nurses (Md=1,71, n=25) experienced more stress than ICU nurses (Md= 1,43, n= 110), p<0,05. The level of stress was low among non-frontline nurses. Gender and working department were significantly associated with stress levels.
