Abstract
The present publication is a review of the two-volume monograph by M.Yu. Zolotukhin, Doctor in History, who tried to present his view of one of the most signifi cant politicians of the 19th century, whose conservative principles were refl ected both in theoretical reasoning and in practice. However, Bismarck was always distinguished from the majority of staunch supporters of that political ideology by his lack of dogmatism and political fl exibility, which gave his detractors a reason to accuse him of Bonapartism.
