Abstract
Abstract Two new saponins named mussaendoside I (1) and J (2) were isolated from the aerial parts of Mussaenda pubescens Ait.f. On the basis of chemical and spectral methods, including 2D NMR technique, their structures were elucidated as 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl(1→2)-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl pomolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester and 3β-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl oleanolic acid 28-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester, respectively.
