Abstract
Abstract Cytogenetic studies have been performed in six specimens of Cebus nigrivittatus with G-, and C-banding methods. Centromeric C+ bands have been detected in each chromosome pair, terminal C+ bands in chromosome pairs 1,2,3,12/24 and 11, whereas interstitial C+bands have been observed in chromosome pairs 4,12/24,8,13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21. The C-banding patterns show a degree of polymorphism as well as the presence of interstitial and terminal C-bands. A different morphology affecting the long arm of chromosome 4 due to a paracentric inversion is also reported.
