Abstract

Mitocans are a group of drugs known to target the mitochondria of cancer cells. Mitochondria being an unusual double membraneand highly negative potential may challenge the efficient delivery of mitocans. To overcome such challenges, the nanotechnology-based drug delivery system is considered to be efficient and highly explored. Our study aims to explore the potential of selected nanocarriers i.e. carbon nanotubes (CNT) and fullerenes (C60 and C70) to selectively deliver mitocans to the enzyme hexokinase-2 (HK2). Our in-silico analysis suggests that CNT can be used as potential nanocarriers for the selective delivery of the mitocans to HK2.
