Abstract

A method of generating a new type of multiple-object discriminant filter, of which the filter function has discrete values, is presented. In order to reduce the error in peak-correlation response of a quantized synthetic discriminant function filter, the simulated annealing technique is used for filter design. As a result, the error is greatly reduced. Results of computer simulations are demonstrated.
