Multiple-electron transfer to highly charged noble gas ions in single ion-atom collisions

Four electron capture cross sections σ 62 have been measured for Ar 6+ ions in ion-atom encounters from 8 to 72 keV. A rather weak energy dependence is found. The cross sections increase strongly with the target atomic number, however they are almost constant for different projectile atomic numbers.
