Abstract

The performance of cruise missile depends largely on its guidance and control system. Therefore, it is essential to study the guidance and control system of cruise missile so as to promote operational effectiveness of cruise missile. In this paper, a guidance and control system of plane symmetrical cruise missile is designed for attacking static targets. A novel method named MTN (multi-dimensional Taylor network) is introduced and the controller is designed based on MTN optimal control not requiring controlled object models. Finally, full channels simulations considering coupling among the channels are conducted to test the performance of MTN optimal controller compared to optimal PID and SMC (sliding mode control needing the precise missile mechanism model) controllers. The results show that system with MTN optimal controller has the highest hit accuracy and shortest strike time, which validates the effectiveness of MTN optimal controller.
