Abstract
After the defeat in the First World War, the Ottoman Empire actually vanished after the Mondros Armistice with the Entente Powers. Defenseless, because of the armistice, the Turkish fatherland was being invaded by the victors. The Entente Powers, having given the West Anatolia to Greeks with false reasons, were mainly responsible for the upcoming Greek invasion and atrocity on May 15, 1919. Manisa’s Turk and Muslim people sent many telegrams to the authorities to take defensive precautions against the Greek invasion. These attempts, however, were in vain. At that time, the submissive and anti-resistant attitudes of the Ottoman government and the authorities in Izmir and Manisa against invasion menace prevented the people from organizing armed struggle forces. As a result, Manisa, was invaded by Greeks before she could resist. In the invasion period which took more than three years, thousands of Turks were slaughtered by the Greeks, the survivors suffered that much due to Greek tyranny.
