Abstract
Community service learning is a teaching and learning method through which learners apply the knowledge and skills learned in school to practical conditions. Using community service learning methods in universities helps students to be self-disciplined and proactive in acquiring specialized knowledge, especially making an important contribution to the development of basic skills in students: practical capacity, competence problem-solving ability, creative thinking ability, teamwork ability, adaptive capacity,... and at the same time helping students become self-aware of their own roles and responsibilities to the community. However, the application of community service teaching methods in universities in Vietnam is still limited. Within the scope of this article, the author analyzes and clarifies some theoretical issues about teaching methods to serve the community and the reality of using community service teaching methods in universities in Vietnam. South present on that basis, the article proposes some basic solutions to improve the efficiency of using community service learning methods in universities, contributing to improving the quality of training highquality human resources in higher education institutions in Vietnam today.
