Abstract
The Quaternary tectonic is poorly characterized in Eastern Languedoc because of the small scale of deformations. We propose a geomorphologic approach based on the distribution of alluvial deposits zones and zones under erosional processes in the Gardon river basin. We show evidence of Quaternary vertical movements which are probably associated with the division of the Mediterranean Languedoc region, into several different dynamic units defined by reactivated older faults. These movements have an influence on the structure and water flow of karstic reservoirs.
