Abstract

The synthesis of titanium(IV) alkoxides bearing diamidoamide ligands was undertaken. We synthesized complexes bearing alkoxide ligands of varying size to assess the influence of the steric demand of the alkoxide ligands on the coordination/dissociation equilibria. Moreover, to evaluate the influence of the electronic properties of these ligands, we prepared analogues including electron-donating trimethylsilyl and electron-withdrawing tosyl N-substituents. Herein, we describe their synthesis, characterization, and coordination behavior as well as some of their decomposition products and catalytic performance in the condensation cross-linking of silicone prepolymers.
