Abstract

Using the Vainberg's theory of potential operators, variational principles are developed for linear dynamic theory of viscoelasticity. The Euler equations of the functional developed herein are the governing field equations, including the boundary and initial conditions as opposed to equivalent set of Integro-differential equations of the Gurtin's method.
