Abstract

The formation of the research competence of students in higher education should be purposeful and systematic, since research competence becomes an integral component of the general and professional training of a future specialistwithin the framework of the competency-based approach.The article is devoted to the problem of developing and introducing into the educational process a structurally meaningful model of formation of research competence in students at laboratory workshops in biology. The meaning of the concept“model” is revealed, which is considered as a standard, representing a guideline in the systematization of informationregarding the process under study and reflects the course of the process of forming research competence among students. The developed model of the methodology for the formation of the research competence of biology students combines a combination of a set of target, content, proceduraland evaluatively- effective components and reflects the system-forming connections between them.
