Abstract
The chip building which happens in a triangle could be described best by the plasticity mechanics methods. Here the shear angle is important for cutting force relations. Basing on this a dynamic process model has been developed which considers the tool-, process- and workpiece characteristics. For the dynamic model the chip section is the input value and the cutting forces are the output values. The model parameters are determined by means of the parameter estimation method. The tool wear can be shown by model parameters which are used for the tool diagnosis. The wear dependent changing of the model parameters is the basis for a model aided tool-diagnosis system.
