Abstract

This study aims todetermine the effect of the learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) to students' attention and determine the effect of the learning model Think Pair Share on students’ understanding of mathematical concepts. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental research design NonEquivalent Control Group Design. The sample in this study was class XI IPA 4 with 36 students as the experimental class and class XI IPA 3 with 37 students as the control class. Sampling using technique Purposive Sampling. The experimental class uses a model think pair share and the control class uses a conventional model. The research result were obtained from questionnaires and test. Data analiysis using the T test (independent sample t test). Based on results of the study, the significance for student’s attention 0.002 and significance for understanding mathematical concepts shows 0.047, so it can be concluded that: (1) there is an influence of the learning model think pair share to student’s attention; (2) there is the influence of the learning model think pair share to student’s understanding of mathematical concepts.
