Abstract

This research aims to determine the differences cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) and Make a Match (MaM) on student learning outcomes in the subject of Ecosystem in class X state high school 6 Medan academic year 2014/2015. This type research is an experiment. Research conducted on two different classes. Each class have 37 students so that the total of sample is 74 students. On a class X-1 of learning models done with Think Pair Share (TPS) and the class X-3 is done by learning models with Make a Match (MaM). To determine which hypothesis is formulated by using a statistical t test. The result of this research was obtained that the average value of 45,18 obtained pre tes Think Pair Share (TPS) classes and the average value obtained 48,10 obtained pre tes Make a Match (MaM) classes. While post tes result show that the learning of student by using cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) on the subject matter of ecosystem obtained an average value of 83,67 and learning of student using cooperative model Make a Match (MaM) obtained the average value of 76,21. Thus the learning of student using cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) is better than a cooperative learning model Make a Match (MaM). Hypothesis testing suggest tcount on df= 74 with level α = 0,05 obtained of 4,46 and ttable on df = 74 with level α = 0,05 obtained of 1,66. So tcount > ttable, the hypothesis Ha was received which means there are significant differences cooperative learning model Think Pair Share (TPS) and Make a Match (MaM) on student learning outcomes in the subject of Ecosystem in class X state high school 6 Medan academic year 2014/2015.
