Abstract
The article analyzes the problems of military and patriotic education of young students in Russia in the 50– 80s of the XXth century; contains historiographic analysis of the problem; defines the purpose and organizational and pedagogical foundations of the military and patriotic education of young students. It was revealed that the features of organization of patriotic education in the 1980s are manifested in the activation of military-patriotic work of the pioneer and komsomol organizations and in the teaching of school subjects.
