Abstract
We consider the field dependence of the microwave resistivity inhigh-Tc superconductors. We present field-dependent microwaveresistivity measurements at 48 GHz on thin YBa2Cu3O7-δ and Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x films. The field dependence of the microwaveresistivity cannot be satisfactorily described in terms of a singlemodel for the flux motion when both materials are considered. Weintroduce and discuss a simple model that incorporates the effect ofthe enhanced field-induced quasiparticle increase in asuperconductor with lines of nodes in the gap, together with viscousflux motion. A good description of the data is obtained, for YBa2Cu3O7-δ as well as for Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+x.
