Abstract

The microstructure and texture evolution of (VCoNi)99.9C0.1 medium entropy alloy under homogenized, rolled and annealed conditions are systematically investigated. The equiaxed coarse grains of homogenized samples are elongated along rolling deformation direction, and then transformed to equiaxed fine grains after annealing. The distribution of coarse particles develops along grain boundary for as-homogenized and as-rolled samples; while disappears after annealing. Random texture of homogenized sample is changed to Bs-type texture after rolling, which is ascribed to local chemical ordering induced by planar slip and shear band. Bs-type texture is retained in as-annealed sample due to the absence of preferential orientation nucleation and sluggish diffusion.
