Abstract
Surface modification is an effective method to improve the surface properties of biomedical titanium. In this study, TiCuZnSn alloy layer was successfully prepared on pure titanium by friction stir processing (FSP). The grain size of the titanium surface-modified layer was significantly refined, accompanied by the formation of Sn3Ti5 and CuZn phases. After annealing heat treatment, the wear and corrosion resistance of the TiCuZnSn alloy layer was significantly improved compared with that of the titanium substrate.
