Abstract
1. 1. Formylation of methionyl-tRNA could not be demonstrated in Halobacterium cutirubrum, either in vitro or in vivo. 2. 2. Chromatography of [ 14C]methionyl-tRNA Met on BD-cellulose columns resolved two peaks. 3. 3. One of these chromatographically distinct species was capable of being formylated by the Escherichia coli methionyl-tRNA transformylase.
