Abstract

Muslims are encouraged to perform qurban during Aidul Adha. They can choose to slaughter either goat, cow or buffolow. It is noted that the cost of qurban continue to increase year by year. In the year 2022, the cost of a cow ranges from RM5,500 to RM 5,300 as compared to RM5,300 – RM5,600 in year 2021. Past researches confirm that banking industry involve in creating money. This study utilizes secondary data, analysing how bank’s money creation contributes to the expanding process of a cow particularly during Aidul Adha. The authors found that money creation by banking industry resulted in the increasing prices of goods including cows and eventually adversely affect the participation in qurban.
