Since the introduction of the electronic total station, the art of measuring seems to have been relegated to the backseat. Hawever, optimal results can still only be achieved by applying the “Rules of the art of measuring”. These cover the various remaining sources of error in total stations, in particular electronic total stations, as well as the methods that can minimize or eliminate influences on measurements.
