Abstract

An extensive demonstration by measuring the capacity of different fading channels using water filling algorithm in WiMAX system has been presented in this paper. It is tested for Nakagami-m, lognormal shadowing and Suzuki fading channels with water filling algorithm under IEEE 802.16m standard. It is calculated using 2×2 antennas for downlink system. The simulation work has carried out by using MATLAB®. It is observed by the simulation results that the Nakagami-m fading channel provides best channel capacity for all values of SNR tested either with or without using water filling algorithm. Thus, we can say that the Nakagami-m fading channel is comparatively best, provide high data rate under IEEE 802.16m standard.
