Abstract

This paper deals with the performance comparison of opportunistic relaying technique in enhancing security of Nakagami-m and Rician-k fading channels considering the existence of an eavesdropper. To draw the conclusion of this comparison, the expressions for the ergodic secrecy capacity and secure outage probability have been derived in closed-form which help to understand the insight of the effect of system parameters easily. The results show that, the opportunistic relaying with the same number of relays and for the same diversity gain, confidential data transmission in Nakagami-m fading channel is more secured than that of Rician-k fading channel. Lastly, numerical results have been verified via Monte-Carlo simulation.
