Abstract
This study describes the extension experience Grupo Mídias, Redes e Jovens (MRJ/UFF) carried out with teenagers aged from 14 to 16 years who were students of Projeto Grael, an NGO in the municipality of Niterói, in Rio de Janeiro. The action aimed at promoting media and information literacy sought to reflect on the relation between what circulates on digital social networks and what happens in politics. Developed at a time of extreme polarization, from September to October 2022, the experience enabled us to observe how young people show meanings about citizenship in times of democratic crisis.
