Abstract
The mass-yield distributions in photofission of 232Th and 238U at 25–40 MeV bremsstrahlung peak energies have been determined by direct γ-ray spectrometry for twenty-three nuclides and for five additional nuclides by simple radiochemical separations and subsequent γ-ray spectrometry. The mass yield at A = 135 can be described as “negative” fine structure in the mass-yield curve. The independent yields of 132I, 133I, 135I, 126Sb ( t 1 2 = 12·5 days), 128Sb (8·6 hr) and 136Cs in 238U indicate that the Z p ( A) are 0·2 Z-units higher than those found in the thermal neutron fission of 235U.
