Abstract

The article presents the category of current names which are different from official forms of names, for example, not: Maria, but Marysia, Maryla, Mania…. These forms are used today in everyday communication and gradually replace official forms, even in the public sphere. There is a morphological pattern for the structure of these names in Polish which differs in masculine and feminine names. They should have only two syllables and they should not have soft consonants, such as ś, ź, c, n.
